NAIL SURGERY

Nail surgery to treat ingrown nails, deformed or thick nails & painful nail conditions.

Is it painful?

Toenail surgery is a procedure performed under local anaesthetic meaning there is very little discomfort.

What does it treat?

Ingrown nails, deformed or thick nails & painful nail conditions.

In the case of an ingrowing toenail, a small section is removed from the side of the toenail under local anaesthetic. This is called a Partial Nail Avulsion, and a chemical called Phenol is applied which prevents the piece of nail from regrowing. In some cases, the whole toenail may need to be removed, this is called a Total Nail Avulsion.

How long does it take to heal?

Normally 4-6 weeks if you follow aftercare advice and this healing time is normally no different whether you've had a section of nail or the whole nail removed.

Verruca Treatments

Verrucae are warts that occur on the soles of the feet or on your toes. They may look flat with black dots within their surface, and can be painful.

At Green Park Podiatrists we provide a range of treatments for verrucae including cryotherapy which is using liquid nitrogen. Other treatments include acid treatments and verruca needling.
